Biography

Liam Chen, MD, Ph.D., is the professor of Pathology and Neurosurgery at University Minnesota Medial School. He is also the Medical Director of Neuropathology Division at University of Minnesota Medical Center and the Core Director of the Minnesota David Tomassoni Biorepository Center. Dr. Chen received Ph.D. in Genetics & Developmental Biology at the University of Alberta, Canada, postdoctoral training at Harvard Medical School, and completed residency and fellowship training at Mass General Brigham and Harvard Medical School. Dr. Chen’s research is focused on understanding the cellular and molecular biological pathways leading to major central nervous system disorders. Dr. Chen has over 100 scholarly works including research articles, reviews, and book chapters. He is a member of multiple editorial boards and grant evaluation and review bodies including NIA/NIH, Department of Defence and German Research Foundation.
